Paul Shinneman, Farmer Education Manager

Paul earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech and moved to Houston after graduation. He spent eleven years in the oil & gas industry, then four years as a marketing manager for a local music venue, and along the way, developed a passion for organically growing fruits and vegetables. He honed his agricultural skills in his own backyard homestead, working as a farm hand at a Houston non-profit urban farm, Hope Farms, and as a market volunteer with PIF.

Paul loves being part of the Houston community and hopes to help make access to farm fresh produce more widely available. His favorite vegetable to grow is okra because of its great taste, beautiful flowers, and long growing season.
