Pat Grady, Food Hub Coordinator
Pat joined the Plant It Forward Food Hub in June of 2024. As the Food Hub Coordinator Pat works to distribute PIF farmers’ fresh produce throughout town. He loves collaborating with local chefs, restaurants, and organizations to find creative ways to market and sell PIF produce. Pat has worked in the non-profit field since he graduated from The University of Houston in 2021 with a Media Productions Degree. His career began with a variety of arts non-profits until he discovered his newfound passion for agriculture and gardening. Since the summer of 2023 Pat has worked to support local community gardens as he sees them as an integral piece of cultivating a sustainable future. Pat has since completed his Permaculture Design Certification and the Organic Vegetable Gardening course with Urban Harvest.
Outside of his work with PIF, Pat voluntarily stewards Happy Place Community Garden in Sunnyside, Houston. Happy Place has multiple raised beds that grow seasonal veggies, herbs, and native plants to support a balanced ecosystem. A food forest and bird sanctuary are also being cultivated within the garden. Pat enjoys organizing art shows alongside his friends and community to help promote creativity, collaboration, and reduce barriers within the Houston creative community. His primary practice includes lens based work that can be found at patgpics.com.
