Chef Constant Sustainable Farm

Constant Ngouala, owner-operator of Chef Constant Sustainable Farm, grew up in the Republic of Congo (aka Congo-Brazzaville). While he was a university student in the late 1990s, civil war erupted. As a result, he left his home country and moved to a refugee camp in Gabon. While there, he discovered his passion for farming. In a place where his freedoms were restricted farming gave him a creative and productive outlet.

Constant eventually resettled permanently to Houston. In 2011, he joined PIF’s first Urban Farm Business Class and upon graduation became PIF’s first Farm Manager. He eventually decided that his heart was in farming, and he left the PIF staff to become a full-time grower. Today Constant is a highly regarded vegetable grower. He is excited to add fruits into his offerings as he expands into the 8-acre site he currently leases in Santa Fe, Texas.

Constant sells his produce through our Farm Share and through local farmers markets, including the Urban Harvest, Bay Area, and Braeswood Farmers Markets.
